Can my school stop me doing a GCSE/BTEC I want to choose?
I'm in year nine and tomorrow I have to choose my options for GCSE. My mum hasn't really talked to me about it, she was just like 'do what you like'. I would really like to study Medicine, either in my home county (Ireland) or Scotland. To be admitted into universities in Ireland I need to have a BTEC in health and social studies, but because I have been predicted to get A/A* in my GCSEs, my school say I cannot take any BTEC courses. I'm really worried that that'll mean I cant study Medicine, so is there any way I will still be able to do the BTEC course? As in can my school stop me from doing it? Thanks for you help, Kyia x

How would I go about transferring to an University in Ireland, if I am from the US?
I am currently studying at a community college in California, but really want to transfer to a University in Ireland (preferably Dublin). I also know that I want to get my degree, and not just study abroad. I am an Irish citizen and everything, so that isn't an issue. I just don't know how to go about applying or what the requirements are. I've looked on multiple websites and everything seems a little vague. I would rather at least know the general requirements before actually calling up schools, to see if I have a chance in the first place. Any advice or answers????
