10 St. Patrick's Day Quotes to Celebrate the Famous Irish Saint
When St. Patrick's Day comes around people usually think about corned beef, clovers and beer, but these St. Patrick's Day quotes go to show you that the holiday is about much more than that. If you want to get in on the St. Patrick's Day celebration, here are some fun and festive quotes to get you started...
1. "St. Patrick's Day is an enchanted time - a day to begin transforming winter's dreams into summer's magic." ~ Adrienne Cook
2. "Anyone acquainted with Ireland knows that the morning of St. Patrick's Day consists of the night of the 17th of March flavored strongly with the morning of the 18th." ~ Author Unknown
3. "St. Patrick... one of the few saints whose feast day presents the opportunity to get determinedly whacked and make a fool of oneself all under the guise of acting Irish." ~ Charles M. Madigan
4. "St. Patrick's Day is a religious holiday in Ireland. The first thing you do is go to church." ~ Dermott Reid
5. "Everybody is Irish on St. Patrick's Day. We want people to enjoy themselves and learn something about the great culture and traditions of Ireland." ~ John Keane
6. "Today is St. Patrick's Day. We celebrate our faith and heritage, everything else is secondary." ~ John Dunleavy
7. "Roughly 1 in 6 Americans have Irish blood. I'd say it's probably safe to assume that the average Irish-American who only comes out on St. Patrick's Day has no idea of the sort of economic powerhouse Ireland has become." ~ Scott McClellan
8. "We tend to think of St. Patrick's Day as one big Irish party. However, St. Patrick's Day means something special to Irish people around the world. There is much that pulls the world apart today, but St. Patrick's Day is a time to start all over again and celebrate the positive things we all share in life!" ~ Dr. Sam Speron
9. "Nobody gets upset with the Irish on St. Patrick's Day." ~ Gabriela Lemus
10. "The list of Irish saints is past counting; but in it all no other figure is so human, friendly, and lovable as St. Patrick - who was an Irishman only by adoption." ~ Stephen Gwynn
And while not technically a quote, there's no St. Patrick's Day celebration without an Irish toast:
Here's to a long life and a merry one. A quick death and an easy one. A pretty girl and an honest one. A cold drink - and another one!

In Scandinavia Troll dolls - are very popular with youngsters ?
There is a folklore tradition in Scandinavia about lovely little people called Trolls and are imensely popular with people young or elderly - especially with the younger female audience - Troll dolls were marketed and produced in hundreds of thousands - when I speak of Troll like words - it is with genuine feeling of joy and happiness - much in the way other countries have folklore traditions to do with little people such as is the tradition in Ireland - does anyone share this quality when the word comes up in conversation or does the name Troll interpret to quite something diffrent today - as the seventies and eighties era holds alot of happy memory for the grown-ups who collected Troll-dolls when they were youngsters - can anyone give a polite and appropiate answer ?

guide to driving in ireland......funny!!?
1. Indicators will give away your next move. A confident Irish
driver avoids using them.
2. Under no circumstance should you maintain a safe distance
between you and the car in front of you, because somebody else
will fill in the space, putting you in an even more dangerous
situation.
3. The faster you drive through a red light, the less chance
you have of getting hit.
4. Never get in the way of an older car that needs extensive
bodywork, especially with WW, MO or MH plates. With no
insurance, the other operator probably has nothing to lose.
5. Braking is to be done as hard and late as possible to
ensure that your ABS kicks in, giving a vigorous, foot massage
as the brake pedal violently pulsates. For those of you
without ABS, it's a chance to strengthen your leg muscles.
6. Never pass on the right when you can pass on the left. It's
a good way to prepare other drivers entering the motorway.
7. Speed limits are arbitrary figures, given only as a
suggestion and are not enforceable in Ireland during rush
hour.
8. Always brake and rubberneck when you see an accident or
even someone changing a tyre. This is seen as a sign of
respect for the victim.
9. Learn to swerve abruptly without signalling. Ireland is the
home of high-speed slalom driving thanks to the Department of
Public Works, which puts potholes in key locations to test
drivers' reflexes and keep them alert!
10. It is tradition in Ireland to honk your horn at cars in
front of you that do not move three milliseconds after the
light turns green.
11. To avoid injury in the event of a collision or rollover,
it is important to exit your vehicle through the windscreen right away. Wearing your seat belt will only impede your
hi-velocity escape from danger.
12. Remember that the goal of every Irish driver is to get
ahead of ! the pack by whatever means necessary.
13. WARNING! Never come to a complete stop at a stop sign. No
one expects it and it will result in you being rear-ended
