Self Catering Cottages
Self Catering In Scotland
Self catering over the last 10 years has certainly changed in Scotland. Previously self catering was seen as a budget option, with many cottages in Scotland geared towards the outdoor market like walkers and fishing trips.
Certainly there is still a massive demand for budget cottages but over the last decade more and more people are looking for the more luxurious end.
Cottages have become more popular for a number of reasons, you can find some stunning romantic cottages ideal for a honeymoon in parts of Scotland where there are no hotels. Windyhill near Achiltibuie is a fine example of such a cottage.
Families with young children find self catering a great option as they don't have to go out to a restaurant, and can basically work to their own time table.
Large groups can also hire large cottages for example Hillview in Glenlivet sleeps 12, this would be expensive to rent if it was for 2 people but for 12 it is incredibly good value for money.
Self catering properties are now becoming more available in the main cities of Scotland like Edinburgh and Glasgow. Many of these Self Catering Cottages will take short breaks.
