It was not designed for hiking, but it is a pedestrian mode, and it is not too cumbersome. To deter thieves, it comes with Garmin Lock, Garmin unique anti-theft feature that shuts the unit from performing any functions until a certain 4-digit PIN is entered or the device will have made at a predetermined location.

You can save 1, 000 additional addresses in the device, either in the Favourites or rules, but you cannot program multiple destinations.
We have had reports of some owners, that the traffic information is no longer on this model. We approached this Garmin, and they confirmed nothing has changed.
