Parity urges organisations to rise to the information chaos challenge
by Warren Tsoi
Parity, the business and IT services company, is warning companies that unless they take the volume of information seriously, then their executives are in serious risk of wasting time throughout their working day and making poor business decisions.
Research from IT analysts the Butler Group reveals that employees spend nearly 25% of their working day searching for information to do their jobs and looking for ways of improving collaboration. "Parity is helping clients tackle this problem" says David Conkleton, Managing Director for Parity Business Solutions. "We are currently helping Northamptonshire County Council, Ofgem and Capacitybuilders to manage and distribute large volumes of information within their organisations."
Parity is leading the development of enterprise content management solutions based on Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS 2007) to manage information and help support collaborative working across departments or external organisations. The growth in content volume is being fuelled by the proliferation of unstructured content such as email and the need to store documents and records for compliance and regulatory requirements.
A survey conducted earlier this year by Accenture identified that as a consequence of poor information distribution, 59% of managers in large companies miss information that might be valuable to their jobs almost every day because it exists somewhere else in the company and they just can not find it. Parity's own experience is that organisations are looking for IT solutions that facilitate collaborative working and help them navigate through this growing sea of information.
Dave Conkleton continues, "Using web portals to facilitate the sharing of information and knowledge between departments and project teams as well as external stakeholders is proving to be a winning proposition and we now consider ourselves as leading experts in this area. It's a whole new philosophy of working with information, helping companies get out of chaos and into spending their time making sound business decisions".
In parallel with advising organisations to adopt a strategic approach to managing their documents and information, Parity also advocates rolling out a change management programme to help end users get the most value out of their new systems.

St. Patrick's Days in Warsaw 2007 - Andrzej Ma?ka
29 Feb 2008 at 7:42pm St. Patrick's Days in Warsaw 2007 - Andrzej Ma?ka AndrzejManka 4 min - Mar 1, 2008
St. Patrick's Days in Warsaw 2007 March 16th 2007 was the day when it happened. The second edition of event St.Patrick's Days. This year all the fans of Ireland were gathered in the chambers of Warsaw School of Information Technology. There was a charming feeling of joy during the event, thanks to participants and wonderful speakers who told about Ireland with great engagement and sense of humour. Talking about Ireland in front of a group of native Irish is a challenge. That's for sure. But no challenge can scare our friend of the ToastMasters (The Toastmasters is an international association focused on training and development speaking and leadership skills). It was 15th of March, the day before the event. The guests from Ireland arrived at Warsaw Airport. They were a delegation of International Police Association invited by a v-ce president of Polish Section of IPA Arkadiusz Skrzypczak. Prorector of Warsaw School of Information Technology, profesor Maciej Krawczak acted as a host. Either apart or together - the ladies conducting the event Katarzyna B??dowska and Krystyna Lubi?ska, were full of good humour and always ready to create a joyful atmosphere. When speaking they switched from English to Polish fluently. Thanks to it, guests from Ireland could take an active part in the event. Maria Lewandowska was speaking about a person of Saint Patrick. A life of Ireland's patron was full of dramatic events But these events were not an ultimate tool shaping life of Saint Patrick. This tool it was a love of God and a love of the Irish. After an introduction into irish subject matter, there was a time for the guests to lead the show. V-ce president of IPA Irish Section Mr. Denis Dunne spoke about IPA, its job and a role it was playing for its members. After Mr. Dunne there was a speech by Mr. Declan O'Byrne who presented short story about everyday life of an irish policeman. A subject of police was continued by v-ce president of IPA Polish Section Mr. Arkadiusz Skrzypczak. He spoke about job of the Polish Section of IPA. Then it was a very nice moment of handing membership cards for the newest members of the Polish Section of IPA. Honorary membership cards were handed for partners coworked with the Polish Section of IPA. Director of the St.Patrick's Days event Andrzej Ma?ka presented a movie from St.Patrick's Days March 2006 In Lublin Warsaw and Cracow from the first edition of the event. Monika Andrzejewska spoke about a work in Ireland and Beata Suchodolska spoke about business and economy of Ireland. The event of St.Patrick's Days 2007 was slowly ending. Patricipants listened to a Ms. Dorota Urbanowska's speech about agriculture and tourism in Ireland. When we saw charming green fields, left untouched by farming, we got into a very nice feeling. This presentation was especially great for showing why it is so easy to fall in love with Ireland. And why everyone should go there, even once in a lifetime. Or stay in Ireland for ever. March 16th 2007 was the day when it happened. The second edition of the event St.Patrick's Days organized by 5 O'CLOCK Multimedia Agency, www.5oclock.pl and Polish Section of International Police Association. This year all the fans of Ireland were gathered in the chambers of Warsaw School of Information Technology. There was a charming feeling of joy during the event, thanks to participants and wonderful speakers who told about Ireland with great engagement and sense of humour. To tell the truth, they were speakers that made that day. If we assume a public speaking engagement can cause a stress as big as a roll, so speakers of St.Patrick's Days 2007 were standing against a stress as big as a whole bakery. Talking about Ireland in front of a group of native Irish is a challenge. That's for sure. But no challenge can scare our friend of the ToastMasters (The Toastmasters is an international association focused on training and development speaking and leadership skills). Speakers from ToastMasters charmed guests from Ireland and they got a well-deserved applause. It was 15th of March, the day before the event. The guests from Ireland arrived at Warsaw Airport. They were a delegation of International Police Association. Organizers and speakers put a lot of effort into getting all the equipment right. A computer, projector and sound machines had been checking over and over. The result? Everything went well, nothing broke.
