IT industry news: HP announces new jobs in Ireland (Computeach - IBM Aix Training)
HP has announced plans to create a fresh batch of IT jobs at its bases in Country Kildare and Galway, Ireland.
The company will expand its Irish operations with the creation of 150 research and development (R&D) positions, as well as an additional 130 technical and support roles.
IDA Ireland, the nation's industrial development agency, has said it will support the recruitment of the 150 R&D professionals and the process is set to begin immediately.
Managing director for HP Ireland Martin Murphy claimed the new jobs will "solidify Ireland's strong position at the heart of HP's commitment to invest in research and development".
He added that HP employees based in Ireland are "increasingly developing new leading edge capabilities" for the company's global clients.
HP will fill the new roles by recruiting from Ireland's pool of engineering and computer science graduates, as well as hiring more experienced staff.
The announcement from HP comes shortly after Bill Veghte, executive vice president of HP Software, was unveiled as the firm's new chief strategy officer. IBM Aix Training
