When Is The Best Time To Visit London? |
It may be a troublesome choice on where to spend the annual vacation however next year there is the chance to go to London and its surrounding areas and take in the Olympics when the world's top athletes put on a show that will be watched throughout the globe. What could possibly be more exciting that holidaying in one of the worlds most exclusive capital cities, home of Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, the Queen, Princess Diana, Leicester Sq., Piccadilly Circus and so much more? This city of culture has so much to offer and has never been so tourist-friendly and ready to take care of it's tourists. The London Olympics will take place next July and August and will principally be centred on the Olympic Village in London's famous East End. For those who are feeling adventurous, you'll be able to plan a holiday to take in not just the Olympics, but the United Kingdon too. Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales all make for lovely day journeys or week 2 destinations and journey around the United Kingdom is easy and cheap. There's a lot to do; sometimes it's difficult to know the place to start. Right here's our dream Itinerary;Week OneChoose an airline like British Airways and fly in to London Heathrow or Gatwick. You may either stay in a hotel, or lease a local property from a site like London Games Rentals. Be careful to book this part of your journey early though because the Olympics will attract many more guests to London than normal and accommodation will likely be scarce, particularly after the Easter break. Some trade insiders are forecasting a further 500, 000 guests to London as a direct result of the games and that's on top of the normal increase in tourism at this time of the year. Factor in the weak pound and it will be busy. Perform some research in to where the various Olympic events are actually being held as sports activities such as soccer, sailing and shooting are not going to be hosted in the Olympic Village.Spend the first week following the Olympic events and visiting London. The atmosphere will probably be electric and there is lots to do. Try the popular haunts such as Madam Tussauds and the London Eye, visit the free museums and gallaries such as as the Natural History museum, the Science museum or Tate Modern.Week TwoWhat's special about London is that's it is perfectly situated to do quite a lot of different things. We would recommend in the second week that you lease a car and go see the United Kingdom. Attempt to end up at a different departure airport, say Edinburgh or Dublin to provide you a better chance to see everything. Our journey would start with Brighton, located on the South coast of England. Brighton is a gorgeous English Victorian seaside town that boasts its own pier and amusement area. Next day a three hour trip, via Stonehenge to Bath to see this beautiful old town. Famous for its Roman Spa and Old World feel, a visit to Bath won't ever be forgotten. Stay for a couple of days and get used to the West Country's way of life, it is a slower paced, and remarkably soothing. Ensure you take a day trip to Wales and use the old Severn Bridge. Now's the time to discover further north and cross the invisible border and uncover the delights of Scotland. Scotland is a stupendous country, if you have time visit Loch Ness and maybe spot the monster that's rumoured to inhabit the deep waters. Glasgow is the home of the well-known architect and designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh whose influence may be seen all through the city. Scotland's other main city is Edinburgh, a really inspiring metropolis steeped in tradition. Scotland would be the right ending to an excellent adventure, the vacation of a lifetime, don't miss the opportunity because this is one journey that can never be repeated.
