Golf Trips To Ireland

Irish Golf

Starting on the Par 5 Tenth Hole and Finishing again on the Par 5 18th hole in between are some of the most challenging and Visually stimulating holes that links golf in Ireland has to offer.

A particular favourite is the par 4 12th hole which stands at little over 250 metres off the tee but is probably one of the most challenging holes on the golf course. The only sensible option off the tee is an iron or Hybrid into a narrow fairway that tends to gather the balls off to the right. If you are lucky enough to find the fairway and have not blinded yourself with your second shot, you most likely have a wedge up to an elevated green that is about 50 feet above. A very precise shot will hit the green and leave you with a birdie putt, Anything short will land almost back down to your feet. Anything long will send your ball over 100 foot drop the far side of the green with a next to impossible shot to the green (if you are lucky enough to find your Ball!)

In truth though you could pick out any number of golf holes on this beautiful Irish Links Courses and there is no one-signature hole. Irish Golf is well served by another one of the late Eddie Hackett's designs and is enjoyed by ever increased numbers of Golf Tourists every year.

Carne is one of number of classic Irish Golf Links in this Stretch of the West of Ireland that traditionally have been traditionally not been as well promoted as some of the more Marquee courses in the South West of Ireland. However this anomaly is now being addressed with the number of Irish Golf fans and European Golfers Flocking here are increasing every year.
